How to get your DART pass (Will no longer be free. See pricing structure below.)
DART
Online Registration begins September 22, 2009!
Parkland is
pleased to announce the
continuation of the DART Annual Pass program to employees at a
subsidized cost.
DART representatives will be onsite Tuesday,
September 22, 2009 in
the Ron J. Anderson M.D. Conference Room, from 7 am to 5 pm.
In addition,
representatives from the Benefits department will be available to
assist you
with your online registration during this time. The DART
representatives will
be available to explain the three pass options that will be offered in
2010 and
answer any questions.
Due to a limited
number of passes,
you will have the opportunity to register your request using MyParkland
in
PeopleSoft beginning September 22, 2009.
Online elections
will remain open until October 9, 2009.
If you do not have access
to a computer, please stop by the Benefits department for assistance
with
registration. At the end of the registration period, if the
demand
exceeds the number of passes budgeted, priority will be given to
employees
earning under $40,000. You may access the DART registration page by
going to
MyParkland/Benefits/Dart Pass Election.
If your request
is approved, you
will receive a confirmation letter on October 14,
2009 via
interoffice mail and email. DART representatives will be onsite Friday,
October 23, 2009 at the Benefits Fair from 7 am to
4 pm to take photos
of approved employees.
There are three
types of passes
available in 2010 with different levels of service and cost:
- DART Local Annual

Where does the DART go?
Presby: Take the Red line and get off at Walnut Hill Station. This lets you off just a few feet from the hospital. Lots of Presby employees take the DART to work. I could go on one tank of gas for the whole month when I was at Presby, thanks to the DART.
VA: Take the Blue Line to the VA Medical Center Station. Wouldn't recommend riding it late at night, but some of the attendings take it when they're working regular 8-5 hours.
Parkland: Take The Trinitiy Rail Express to the Medical/Market Center Station which lets off by Children's. The trains don't run as often as DART, but there are good park and ride options for people who live further west, like in Irving. (In the future, there will be a UTSW station on the Green Line, which you can see being built on Medical District Drive across from the outpatient surgery center.)
